Are you involved in the Armed Forces Community? If so, then you probably are somebody or you might know somebody who might appreciate help from The South African Legion. The organization provides longlife help and support for those who are involved in the Armed Forces Community. In particular this organization serves men, women, veterans and of course their families.
After the First World War The South African Legion was founded. Till today, the organization’s main goal is helping men and women, veterans, and their families in a lot of aspects of their daily lives. The Legion also champions Remembrance. They do this in order to safeguard the memory of those who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom through Remembrance education and events. In addition, the organization has given its look and feel a hopeful and fresh expression that fits in today’s culture. The Legion has done this with the 2014 Poppy Appeal. The 2014 Poppy joins up their Remembrance and welfare work. The organization want people to understand that poppy is not just about Remembrance; it’s also about providing hope for the Armed Forces community of all ages, this takes place through the whole year. LIVE ON™ is a memorable manner for The Legion to connect their two twin commitments to the memory of the fallen and the future of the living. Another motive of LIVE ON™ is presenting this charity in a less heavy way. LIVE ON™ describes two important components of their work. As Custodian of Remembrance the South African Legion ensures that the memories of those who have fought and gives their lives in the South African Armed Forces continue to live on through the generations that follow. Through their welfare work they help not only the South African Armed Forces but also veterans and their families to live on to a future with more hope. Also, members of the Legion receive a magazine of high quality. This happens 5 times a year as a part of the membership. Apart from that the organization provides free educational sources for teachers and other people working with youngsters, this material is updated every year and sent to school for free.
